Mobile Innovation Virtual Tournament and Marketplace
The continued growth of mobile communications can be seen to impact all areas of our modern society. As ever, innovation is at the heart of this ubiquity as new technology and services continue to transform the world in which we live. The GSMA continues to actively support and promote this innovation through its membership programme, the GSMA Mobile Innovation Market, which provides a community where entrepreneurs, Operators and industry investors can work together to bring cutting-edge products and services inline with market need.
The GSMA Mobile Innovation Marketplace is part of this programme and an annual calendar of regional events. The GSMA Mobile Innovation Market has engaged with Carmel Ventures and several industry players to bring you a Virtual Online Award Tournament where we will elevate the best in class in front of a truly global online audience. In addition to this exciting tournament, we will sprinkle the agenda with a program concentrating on the key theme of “The New Mobile Model – cooperation, coopetition, collaboration, etc.” Speakers include: Bill Gajda from the GSMA, Dr. Mike Short from Telefonica O2 Group, Hugo Barra from Google, Avner Mor from Microsoft, Dana Porter from Amdocs and Erez Paz from Orange Israel.
How will this tournament work?
The Top Innovators, selected by our esteemed global judging panel, will have the option to present in person at the event in Herzelia or via live online broadcast to the panel of judges on 16 September, 2008.
Each Innovator will have 5 minutes to deliver an intense pitch presentation followed by a three (3) minute Q&A session from our judging panel.
One winner (1) may be named from each of five (5) categories and awarded the title of "GSMA Global Semi-Finalist."
From these extraordinary ideas, one will be deemed “Mobile Innovation Global Finalist” and will move on to compete against other Finalists selected from our other Marketplace events.
From these Finalists, one innovator will be named the "GSMA Mobile Innovation Global Champion" during the renowned Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next February. Each Finalist will receive a free trip to Barcelona to compete for the GSMA Mobile Innovation Championship Title.
The call for entries to the Virtual Tournament is currently closed; however, we invite all Innovative companies to become members of the Mobile Innovation Market community and participate in future tournaments. An annual membership fee is £400 with membership, Innovators will receive one free award entry per membership year.
